The Foyts now make their home in Jack London’s Valley of the Moon
in California’s wine country, following a twelve-year writing enterprise
in Santa Fe hosting literary salons, sponsoring book and film festivals,
presenting papers, giving readings and lecturing, together with research
sojourns to: Switzerland; Turks & Caicos; Albania; Santa Barbara;
Athens, Georgia; Marathon, Greece; Marathon, Texas; Manhattan;
the Coast of Maine; Ireland; the French Quarter; La Jolla; Santa Monica;
Pass Christian, Mississippi; and Upstate New York.
Their extracurricular activities include hiking, running and collecting
fine art and antiques.
Their career paths after Stanford include Jon’s active duty in Military Intelligence, electronics manufacturing, radio broadcasting, international banking, and real estate brokerage and development; and Lois’ in art and antique investments and appraisals. She headed Decorative Arts, an interior design company, after completing graduate studies at Portland State University. In 2007 she founded Fieldcrest Fine Arts, an antique and decorative arts consulting firm specializing in 19th century Asian, American and European bronzes.
